This is the first post for 2013 and I hope you will all be able to check this blog once a week prior to Sunday School. You can even look at it on the way to church if your parents will let you use their smart phone.
I hope to post a question from the previous sermon that will be thought provoking and keep you listening. This week my question will be from last Sunday's sermon when we heard the from Hunt Crisler.
James 1:26-27
English Standard Version
26 If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless. 27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
Here are some questions that are thought provoking...
What does it mean to "Bridle your tongue"?
How should you, as an "almost" Middle Schooler, help orphans and widows? Who in our present culture has no provider or protector, like the widows and orphans James talks about?
